Greetings OTR Friends,
In light of the overwhelming support we received from all of you last year, we wanted to provide an update on the status of the Sauna Renewal Project. Despite the limitations placed upon us by this pandemic, we accomplished quite a bit this year. We focused our efforts on the new hot tub, and are doing our best to have a new working hot tub for OTR 2021.
This year we kept work weekends very small and generally restricted to crew leaders, local volunteers, and trade specialists in order to follow social distancing guidelines and minimize risk to our volunteers and the community. We are lucky to have exceptionally talented volunteers, and they were able to accomplish quite a bit this year.
Working from the master plan developed by the Sauna Team over the past 3 years, we have installed the majority of utilities servicing the entire sauna area and are well on our way to a complete hot tub. Most of the utilities serving the hot tub are in, and we have a new concrete hot tub structure in the ground and secure against both frost and flooding. Given some confidence in an ending to this pandemic and some good weather, we should be able to start straight off in the spring on the plumbing for the heating and water treatment systems of the hot tub. We could not have accomplished this without your support.
